We get this question quite a bit - we sum it up with anything, anywhere, anytime however like everything, there are restricted items that we don’t transport.

We specialise in packaged freight such as boxes, crates, pallets and similar items. This doesn’t mean that we can’t do unpackaged freight, it’s just that the majority of our freight is packaged. In some locations we can offer a packaging service where we can pick the item up and package it back at the depot before transporting it to the destination. Alternatively we may offer suggestions on how the goods can be packaged or offer a specialised service.

If your items are not yet packed, here are some packaging suggestions:

-Box them up! You can purchase boxes for storage facilities such as Kennards Self Storage. They sell packaging boxes of all shapes and sizes so they are bound to have something that suits.

-Plastic Boxes (like those from Big W or Kmart). These work great for households goods, however you want to ensure that there is no empty space in the carton for the items to move around easily. Fill any voids with scrunched up newspaper or padding of some sort to ensure items do not move around easily. Whilst they are a really handy way of packing, they can also crack easily so we always suggest you wrap it with plastic a few times before shipping it off. You also want to watch how much weight you fill them up with. They fill very easily so you want to try and keep the weight under 30kg per carton.

-For really odd shape items, we know if can be hard to find suitable packaging. Several layers of bubble wrap, cardboard and shrink wrap can usually do the trick however you want to ensure the whole outside is completely packaged and protected.

- If your item is extremely heavy and you require a pallet, try Gumtree for pallet purchasing! There are always people on Gumtree giving away (or selling) pallets which you might find handy to use to package your goods. Always ensure you pack and strap everything on top of the pallet as well. Pro Tip: If your item is a lot smaller than the pallet itself, try cutting down the size closer to the size of the item. This may reduce the cost of freight.
